Camper's Cove Aurora

Description

The Northern Lights came out very unexpectedly while we were staying with friends at a cabin in Camper's Cove (Juneau, Alaska). I had my tripod already set up on the beach to take random long exposure star photos so I was able to pivot right away and catch the lights in picture-perfect place with the cabin in view, which is glowing from the campfire. We felt very fortunate to see the lights in late May because as summer approaches in Alaska, the amount of time it stays dark at night grows shorter and shorter until when we get only a couple of hours of darkness.
